Short-Notice gig Dream

Yesterday was Cinco De Mayo, and a band I play with (Pachanga Society) had just finished a show in downtown St. Cloud (Pioneer Place).  Afterward, I walked over to the Tavern on Germain, where a guy was doing (very well) a solo-acoustic set from the stage.... After listening to him play for a bit, it clicked in that I should start doing that too on Wednesdays!  It would just work into how things are now....  So probably around 1-2 times a month - but for a full night each time.

Then, the next night I had a dream: I was somehow in some sort of alternate "Red Carpet", but it was also kind of like the Rox.... Anyway, something came up where I suddenly had an opportunity to play there in the same sort of setup as what I saw the night before. That is, I'd need to have about 34 songs good to go (3 sets of 11/12 songs). so that would necessitate a good amount of covers. Hence a good amount of practice (sober) will be entailed to actually be able to pull it off.

Anyway, coming so suddenly like that I didn't totally have enough songs down well enough at all! But it was too tempting just to do it!! And also there was chance -- even in its current rough and slightly fucked-up state -- that it could kick ass :) (which i incidentally mentioned to the booking person there). Anyway, in this dream I received the "gig", and proceeded to jump into "hurry-up" mode. I both started setting up logistics and practicing any songs that were in dire need...

I (probably fortunately) awoke before the actual playing part. In real life, it'll be "infinitely better" (to quote Bruce T) to do it where I have time to figure most things out beforehand and be sufficiently ready.  But still, I appreciate the dream and what I (likely) did therein :)
